dhanners623 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Well, I just registered for my classes at this year's Swannanoa Gathering, in North Carolina. I'm going to "contemporary folk" week, and if I get my first choice of classes, I'll be taking: -- "Getting From Good to Great" with Sally Barris -- "Let's Hear Your Song" with Buddy Mondlock -- "Songwriting Games" with Cosy Sheridan -- Maybe Your Tendency is Your Gift" with Cheryl Wheeler Other faculty members for the week include Cliff Eberhardt, Jon Vezner, Siobhan Quinn, Ellis Paul and others. Should be a fun week. I was all signed up and paid up and ready to go last year, and then my wife and I wound up buying a house and the closing was scheduled for right when we were due to be in North Carolina. I sat down and looked at the logistics and expenses and everything else and figured Swannanoa would just have to wait. We don't buy a house every day. I figured I'd mention it here because I'll take my J-45, hence there is some Gibson content....

I live 13 minutes away from WW College--these are, as they say, my stomping grounds. We'll talk?
dhanners623 Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Indeed, we should talk. I know that a friend of mine here in the Twin Cities, Tim Fast, generally hosts a "Night Before Swannanoa" show at the Crooked Door in Marion, NC, and if he does it again this year, I'll no doubt show up and play. It is generally the Saturday night before the Sunday we have to show up at WW, hence the "Night Before Swannanoa" name....
