FenderGuy1 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 This Blue trash picked Ashton that i found in a mate's trash bin! What i've done is i've stripped it down, sanded the top and i am going to do the rest tomorrow, so i will call this one the Trash-o-caster
Bender 4 Life Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 any idea why it was "in the bin" ?? do the electronics work? is the neck straight? neck pocket cracked? need a nut? looks like a good project !! careful where you "pick" though......my aunt used to "dumpster dive" until an angry drunk sleeping IN a Salvation Army box tried to knife her.
FenderGuy1 Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Two wires were cut in the electronics section, so i cut the rest of the wires to get the pickguard out, and it needs a new nut, and the neck pocket has a crack near the upper horn where the neck meets the body, only a small crack
alexri Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Nice man, what color are you going to paint it? I say go with a nice Hendrix olympic white.
FenderGuy1 Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 My mum and me talked about it and i say keep it the natural woodgrain or go olympic white
pippy Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Looks like a fun project. As far as colour goes; what about uniting your two hobbies and spraying it "TV-Yellow"? Seriously. I think TV-Y with that rosewood board would look great. P.

Searcy Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Two wires were cut in the electronics section, so i cut the rest of the wires to get the pickguard out There's only two wires to cut to get the pick guard out.
krock Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 There's only two wires to cut to get the pick guard out. Is one the ground?
pfox14 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 There's got to be other reasons this guitar was tossed in the garbage.
Buxom Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Anyone remember the Simpsons episode with the autographed hockey stick and it was filled with super termites? It would be so funny if that guitar was filled with super termites.
FenderGuy1 Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 No the guitar was not filled with termites
