Real Les Paul, or just a very old model?

Hi there, Sorry about my second post asking whether this "Gibson" is real or not, although this one has intrigued me to question again.

The finish looks very basic and the head stock looks either heavily used or just old.

The guy who's selling it has currently only two photo's up of the guitar:

That has to be a fake.

I managed to get hold of his telephone number and contact him, he admitted to it being a Japanese Replica, guess I can remove this thread now cool.gif

Being a Japanese made replica could possibly make it a very good guitar, but having Gibson on the headstock is not gonna do that one any favors (hopefully). The case might be worth more than the guitar.

I don't know....to me, it doesn't look the "quality" and attention to detail

that the Japanese replica's had. Or even, that of a Burny, or Tokai...which

were/are excellent replica's. So...??? A Chinese "fake," maybe?! The area

right in front of the nut, on the headstock, is "suspect," as well. Was the

headstock repaired, at any time...do you know? [confused][unsure]

Yes,that spot is "suspect".There does not appear to be binding on the body either, unless it was painted over for some reason.I agree that "Chinese replica" may make more sense, maybe?!
