My new hat fits this little blues box the best ... ;-)

Will be back with the SJ most likely next week.

Variety is spice of life as they say, right ?

Why not another one of your Gibbys?

New hat? Pics or else it didn't happen! Either that or we'll assume that it being from Camden, it is a jester's hat or some such.

Not only new hat but also a larger than life 70's wasted Keef t-shirt !

Might record a couple tracks from the gig, just to prove im not full of it, or am I ? ;-)

As long as you're having fun, that's what your audience will pick up on, not the guitar you chose to play.

On the other hand, I can't help but think that the hat purchase was but a ploy to convince yourself that you need a smaller Gibson such as a L-00 or LG series guitar. B)

Hope you have a real fun show.

So true Guth ... its amazing how our obsession of guitars does not transfer to the viewing public, they could not care less as long as it sounds good.

Although you can always pick the muso type who stares at the stand checking out the guitar bofore the show more than talking to his girlfriend, much to her disgust ... lol..

On a side note, one thing Ive recently worked out when playing songs to an audience that its all bout the bass line, as long as the foot is tapping they could not care less about what you do in between almost..I think im becoming more of a bass player than a guitarist when playing solo backing a singer..

Some people(non musicians) know brands like Gibson, Fender, etc, and some dont know the difference between any of them, and dont care, as long as it sounds good, they can dance to it, tap their feet, etc. Only us musicians are uptight about brands, etc. We can spot A Gibson, Fender, etc a mile away on stage.

Well most non-musicians with some recognition skills, and quite possibly some musicians will probably think EA's playing a small vintage Martin. Though I imagine that many Czech guitarists are buying their local brand, in which case they'll know what it is, and probably appreciate EA's taste. If any audience members turn their nose up at the use of a non-Gibson, they will probably quickly be shamed by buy-local supporters. In Hungary they would be in the current climate, though there are no Hungarian-based guitar companies of any repute on that sort of scale, so this is not something that you can observe at gigs. Anyway Furches are very good. Our local bluegrass band's guitarist plays one of their dreads, albeit not from the bug-eaten vintage series that EA has. Sounds fantastic - the guitar is definitely of a quality appropriate to his fine playing. Very Martin though. They don't really do Gibson-inspired to my knowledge. I once saw a very nice Furch 12-fret slope dread in Budapest. Didn't have time to play it, sadly, but it was definitely of the Martin slope ilk, not of the J45 family.

Yep, I think you assessed Furch correctly Mojo. I would say they are inspired from the Martin / Collings camp for their OM's / Dreads and Taylor for their GA models. To me they are a great alternative to a Collings (more balance and clarity than Martin). Easier on the wallet also compared to a Collings, thats for sure !
