International Force

Wow, I was amazed to find (while clicking away) that Gibson forum members are from all over the planet. Guess I am so used to only interacting with fellow Yanks it took me by surprise. Glad to see so many non-Americans playing our guitars. Perhaps there is still something we can make that the world regards highly. Cheers to the world.

I am a Canuck and I have bought plenty of Gibsons. And I have also returned them all and bought cheaper Epiphones.

Finally I have found a Gibson I like so much I traded in all the Epiphones for it.

Now the Gibson is 100% paid off and I couldn't be happier. :D/

I'm not sure if Canada count as international. It's only a 4 hour drive from my house to your fine adult (dancing girl) bars. Windsor is a fine city.

While living in Florida many years ago I even had a Canadian roomy.

Still, I am glad you'all like the Gibson's we do have that in common. That and a love for Rush, I suspect.

+1... and don't forget about April Wine and the Barenaked Ladies.

But DON'T, I repeat DO NOT mention Nickelback, or so help me God I will kill you where you stand.

(This may sound strange coming from a guy who lives a couple hours away from where Nickelback grew up... but trust me, you don't want me to get started on them...)

Hi Homz,

From the UK here, I have always thought of Gibson as being a global brand, surely the most influential guitar ever made is the LP (Cue howls of disagreement from the fender camp...) The LP defined the sound of classic British rock, yet is subtle enough for jazz, blues etc etc.

P.S. Your cars are great as well, I drive a 99 Mercury Cougar, badged as a Ford here, but built in the 'States and converted to right hand drive in Germany...motor built in Windsor Canada... I want a Mustang though.....

I didn't know they (the unmentioned/ fearing for my life) were from Canada. I like also like April Wine, Trimph, and that guy who sings "Wreck of the Edmonds Fitzgearld".

Oh, and never forget the greatest thing to come out of Canada since ever, Neil Young.

P.S. Please put up road blocks the next time an Alaskan politician makes a run for the lower 48 states. Perhaps you could restrict your air space to people with I.Q.'s above that of crude oil.

That would be Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian folk artist back from the 60s and 70s. If you like that song, you should also check out "Sundown" and "The Canadian Railroad Trilogy."

Not a big fan of Sarah Palin, I take it?

Nope not a fan of the afore mentioned. And as you said about that band you hate ditto on stupid Alaskan politicians who happen to look like Tina F. from "Saturday Night Live".

BTW.. I knew it was Gordon Lightfoot. I like all his stuff. My wife hates him and can't stand when during band practice when I start singing "Sundown". .... "you better take care if I find you been sneaking up my back stairs."

drives her nuts! all the more reason to do it...

Ok we won't mention Nickelback since you seem to have a issue with Nickleback but you forgot some other famous Canadian rockers both the rich and famous and the not so stellar like

Paul Anka

Bryan Adams

Melissa Auf der Maur

Bruce Cockburn

Bare Naked Ladies

Brent Fitz

KD Lang

Avril Lavigne

Alex Lifeson

Alanis Morissette

Anne Murray

Neil Peart

And of course Chad Kroeger of some band I think called Nickelback

Brian Adams is great. I saw him when he opened for Journey in the early 80's. He blew them off the stage that night.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the others on your list with exceptions to the Rush boys who do rock with the best of em.

My wife likes KD Lang and Morisett.
