guitartim3 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Here is a pic of a FT-130 I picked up at a garage sale for $15. What do ya think?
telepbrman Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 That is amazing!! Great pick bud...how's the sound?
guitartim3 Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 It sounds great and holds tune real well. The action is a little high and the bridge has a crack in it but it doesn't seem to affect the sound. Anyway for $15 I can't complain.

TommyK Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Blue label or tan? Check the neck block for movement. If it's loose, I have a fix.
guitartim3 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 It's a blue label. I have seen your post concerning the neck block issue. This guitar looks to me like it is in pretty good shape as far as that goes. I wouldn't mind getting your opinion on it though. If I post some pix of the areas of concern would you mind giving me some feedback? Might take me a day or two to get pix up. Blue label or tan? Check the neck block for movement. If it's loose, I have a fix.
guitartim3 Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 It didn't take me as long as I thought.
TommyK Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Looks rock solid. Best blue label I've seen. It may have been one of the few that was repaired under warranty. You've got a good find and at that price, a steal. By removing the neck (screws in the back), you can install shims below the neck to raise it up, thereby lowering the action. Old credit/debit cards make good shim stock.
guitartim3 Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Thanks for your expertise and tip about raising the neck. It is greatly appreciated.
RaysEpiphone Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Lucky dog!! Looks a lot like the FT-120 I got on consignment at my local guitar shop, and it does look like it's in great shape. I think I'm getting 80 or 100 bucks out of mine. Guitar Center has one just like yours tagged at $350.00 US... Funny, this Guitar Center location is not far from where I live.

For $350.00? What chutzpah! The FT120 is also a Martin 000 like guitar. Not sure if the 120 was a blingier 130 or a more plain one. You got pics? Dot fret markers or inlays? What shape? What about body binding on that 120?

Nope GC has a 130 for 350, sorry didn't meen to confuse ya. My 120 is probably going for around 200 or so, maybe A bit less. This this is my 120 think its a 1970's model (the tuners are much newer)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rgH8g2HQ04&list=PL918D034E1EDCA2CC&feature=mh_lolz
TommyK Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I think I see the tan 'Lincolnwood' label. It's a late FT model. Kind of makes me think I need to treat my FT145SB with a little more respect!
LPDEN Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Awesome find and a real bragain at only $15! Nice catch!
