junglejem Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I see where Music Zoo has an SJ-200 12 string on their website, and it got me wondering...if I wanted a left hand SJ-200 12 string with a Trance Audio Amulet system, where would I go? I am not navigating the Gibson website very successfully. Can any Gibson dealer make the arrangements and quote me a price? Would Gibson even build such a beast?
pfox14 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 It would probably be very expensive to have Gibson build you a lefty 12-string J-200, since I don't think they make one already. It is possible to convert a righty guitar to a lefty and would be far less expensive. That's an option worth exploring IMHO.
BigKahune Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 . Yep, authorized Gibson dealer can order on for you. But as Paul says - pricey. I recommend you contact Jeremy at Fuller's and discuss what you want - 713-880-2188 . sales@fullersguitar.com .

Not only would you switch the nut but also reverse the saddle angle which requires wood work. The biggest thing though is that bracing is not symmetrical. The braces meant for the bass side would be under the treble and vice-versa. Not the best for sound and certainly not best for long term health of the guitar.

Good point, you usually only see people do it on cheap guitars where if there's any long lasting damage it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
