Les Paul Fanatic Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hey what do you guys know about P-90 pups, I was wondering if they would fit in a normal sized pickup slot.
daveinspain Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 They they will fit but you'll have masses of extra space...
sepultura Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hey what do you guys know about P-90 pups' date=' I was wondering if they would fit in a normal sized pickup slot.[/quote']No, they won't. You can get P90's in a humbucker sized casing from some companies today, though.
Ian Martin Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Gibson does sell P-94s that are humbucker sized, I am not sure *how* different they are from P-90s though. Also, Seymour Duncan as alot of options. Really, all the companies make pickups in every sized casing nowadays.
Thundergod Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Has anyone tried placing two single spaced humbuckrs in a humbucker space, and installing some switches to switch them out of phase with one another? Just fooling around with you guys... I think most major companies make single sized humbuckers and humbucker sized singles... humbucker sized p90s and p90 sized humbuckers... and ...
Les Paul Fanatic Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 I'm thinking of putting a P-94 in my vintage mahogany once it comes in if noone has any objections to said plan.
SRV-Zeppelin Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Whatever works for you. If Thunder can switch the casing, pots and caps on his Lester I'm sure no one's going to attack you for switching in a pickup. Good luck.
thejay Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 That is exactly what I am doing - Putting two P94s in my new Vintage Mahogany. I just got the guitar yesterday. Its actually my second for this model - liked the feel so much I bought another. I posted a similar topic to this about P94s. They are the same pickup but in a humbucker housing.
Les Paul Fanatic Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Alrighty then, I'm looking to order from Dimarzio, or dare I say it EMG, yes they have one I would like to try out.
