Help Authenticating a Gibson

I'm looking to buy a Gibson Les Paul, and after reading about all the fakes out there, I can say I'm a little concerned. The Gibson I'm buying is used, but doesn't come from a Gibson Dealer where I live, However, there is a Gibson Dealer in my town. So, in all likelihood, it could have been purchased from the Gibson Dealer, and eventually sold to the shop where I found it.

I haven't yet paid for it completely, I still owe $400 on it, and I still have time to back out of the deal, if I choose. Obviously they aren't going to allow me to take it from the shop, and to the Gibson dealer for authentication. But they will allow me some leeway to come in and examine the guitar as I am paying it off. So, I was wondering what should I be looking for? I would like to have a list of a few things to look for.

Hello...

Well there are certain things to look for but the fakes are getting harder to spot.. If you can get some pics of it and post it up here we will probably be able to spot if its fake or not.. Heres a vid that shows you some of the differences (probably better to turn the sound off though :))

If the seller will allow you to take pictures get one overall shot of the whole guitar preferably from straight overhead (no angles), as well as a front and rear shots of the headstock. Post the shots here and the members will tell you whether it's genuine or fake.
