Well, received the Custom Classic from Guitar Center (thanks to you guys) but the volume knob bridge position doesn't work. Rolls down to zero and volume is basically unchanged. GC is shipping me another one to my local store for a swap. Beautiful guitar and plays better than my gold top Classic but I was disappointed with the defect.

I have a cream Custom Classic LP coming in on Tuesday. That's beautiful in Wine Red. Congrats. I really like the baked maple board. I have one on my sg vintage burst and it's great. can't wait to have it on a LP. [thumbup]

Might be a dumb question, but...did you look inside the back panel? Sounds like a loose wire, which could be quickly soldered...or, at worst, a bad "pot?" Easily fixed/replaced. Seems like, if you love everything else, about it...fit, finish, playability...why risk that, on another one, "sight unseen?"

But, whatever....good luck, on the replacement.

Thanks, I did consider having it fixed, since I am not a DIY tech guy, but ultimately decided to let GC replace it. I doubt I'll be disappointed with the replacement and will look it over before taking it home.

The classic custom sure does play well, I have played a couple of them at my local guitar center, I do have a question, does anyone feel disappointed that only none neck size was offered??

Well, not in my case. I love the neck, on mine! [thumbup][biggrin]

But, it might well be a consideration, for other's, who don't

care for that style? As I've mentioned, many times previously,

I have guitars with all kinds of neck profiles. So, it takes next

to no time, for me to "adapt!" So..???

I own One les Paul with a 60's neck and one with a 50's I prefer the 50's but I really think I may have to I'm up one of these anyway. I am really impressed with them

I'd try the replacement and if it wasn't as good I'd have the pot changed. Shouldn't this have been checked before it left the factory? It may be a lower model but it's still a lot of money.

I personally love the 60s neck so no worries for me but can understand the disappointment if the other is your preference.
