duane v Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I'm sure most of you have recorded, but I would like to hear a recording of a guitar tone you laid down on tape and are really proud of.
rocketman Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Here's mine. I like the wah sound I did at 0:11 and that "wall of sound" attempt at 4:30. I think it sounds best cranked way up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CaGo8agoBs&feature=channel
duane v Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Frank Marino influence there somewhere????
RS1976 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 see my signature. ps my record drops in a couple weeks. you can listen for days...
Searcy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I always liked the guitar sounds I got on this one even though I'm not to fond of the song.
Riffster Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 So far this clip, it has mistakes but I like the vintage-y tone. Recording a more metal high gain tone that I like has proven elusive but I am working on it. Having a 5-month old baby and cranking and amp has not been in the cards. Rock n' Rolla
Rabs Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I do some bits with friends now and then and did this track a short while ago.. Its totally his track but I just provided the heavy guitars and did the lead bit (and its not finished yet).. I like the full Gibson sound I got in the chorus bits where the chord rings about 00:50, nothing sounnds like that but a Gibson :) http://youtu.be/upf7iUtE79k

Californiaman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 11 months ago I threw this up on sound cloud. I like the way the melodic intro leads into some in-you-face chords. Done with my ES-175 and Garageband. Sound Cloud
Californiaman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 My personal fav tone starts around 2:10 for the first lead in this old kiss tune. My singing is not the best and I am trying to get someone locally to lay a vocal track. The guitar is the 1991 RG550 The second lead is around 3:50 http://www.pruconsultants.com/God_of_thunder.mp3 Nice work Jocko. I can tell you enjoyed making that. I always liked the guitar sounds I got on this one even though I'm not to fond of the song. That was cool Searcy.
Rabs Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Theres also this I did for a demo for a job making music for computer games.. Its meant to be "generic" rock track.. just a short snippit :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRvMKfzKB6U
pippy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 ES-339 into DR I liked that a lot! Good stuff! P.
pippy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 This has been seen/heard here before. It was just a very short tone clip for a mate who wanted to hear the R0 straight into the MM but it's fairly typical of what I like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvSOqiJjOoE P.
bigneil Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Hi every one, I loved hearing all your great recordings. I had a wee go at some home recording myself last year, my brother an I had recorded an old midi backing of drums, bass, and synth, and laid out an acoustic guitar track on it. We then forgot all about it for like 7 years, so when he came round having found the old CD after a clear out, I decided to turn it into a fresh project. I don't have a microphone or any recording equipment, but I discovered that I can plug my multi effects processor directly onto the sound card on the computer. Believe it or not there are 10 electric guitar tracks on this, and the one that has the TONE that i'm proudest of is the lead guitar that comes in at 3.20. http://soundcloud.com/blueb4sunrise/08-find-the-answers-bigneils
zigzag Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Summertime Lead done with a Gretsch G6120 Nashville thru a Zoom G1 effects pedal, rhythm with an ES-335. Audacity.
duane v Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Heres one of my favorite tones I achieved during a recording session in 1985.... Not my favorite song or best work, but I like the tone. Amps = Two Mesa Boogie MarkIIB heads dimed and ran in series Four Mesa Boogie 4x12 Cabs. Each cab mic's with 3 SM57 mics (in total 12 mics) Recorded Dry Guitar = Rythym = 69 Gibson LPC Guitar Lead = 1982 Charvel Strat superD Dimarzio Lead begins at 3:31 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgFE0NnACWY
Elmer Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 So many nice stuff! I improvised a little on a Jazzy tune. It is 1 track, 1 take, 1 guitare (last time I play on the ES175 before I bring it back to the store) I named it All Gibby's chillem got rhythem. It is slow and soft...take a brown beer and relax :) http://soundcloud.com/elmer_scupture/all-gibbys-chillun-got-ritme
Elmer Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 NICE ONE PASCAL! Love ur fingers! No picks here either! And what a beautiful guitar!!
bigneil Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Duane, you just made me wish I didn't cut my hair and sell my pointy headstock guitar. That was a great tone on the solo you are a fantastic player too. @ Pascal...Nice
Tman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 From 1979 at a battle of the bands in Little Rock, AR. I had the V cranked through a tube amp (I have no memory of what the amp was)and I liked the sound of the solo at about 22 seconds in - very basic overdriven: Living vicariously through my own past!
