Is it worth it to upgrade pickup

So I have been playing a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Studio for about 6 months now and have been loving it! It is the non-cutaway model. But I do have some issues and want to get some outside input on. Firstly I am missing having tone control or eq control on it and am wondering if I should upgrade the pickup/system on it to something like the prefix plus-t by fish man or something else or selling the guitar and buying the Studio or Standard EC Models(but not sure how much the cutaways would take away from the tone). I also noticed that the pickup itself is very sensitive in it for both good and bad reasons. The sound from it sounds great but.... it is almost too sensitive, I am a very hard player(my strumming of the guitar) and if I am not careful, I get a lot of bassy knocks from the pickup. I have also noticed that the feedback is terrible though it as well and now have to use a sound hole cover which I am not a fan(feel it kills the tone). My current setup is simple for playing out in my band. Basically guitar into a TC Electronics G Natural pedal into the PA. Any help would be great!
