jimmiJAMM
What's the deal with this thing? Besides the cool stickers and certificate of authenticity does anyone actually believe they'll play & sound exactly like Pete with this thing? Is this the baby booming yuppie's new favorite toy to show his friends on bridge night, or what? http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM00/Content/Gibson/PR/Pete-Townshend.html Isn't this basically this without a few... ahem... odd mods? http://www.harmony-central.com/Events/SNAMM99/Gibson/SG-Classic.html
hellion102792
It's basically the Classic, just with a wrap-around stop-bar instead of the TOM/SB combo, aged hardware and worn finish, and the things you mentioned. I'd probably take the Classic over this one, but it's still a nice guitar I bet.
dylumph
I like the production model better. The pickups have height adjustment screws and the thing is NOT aged. I just wish the Gibson logo wasn't a decal. It is a player. Its a guitar with many voices. I'm still amazed at how spot on the attenuation is on the wrap around bridge! GuitarJunkie
I just wish the Gibson logo wasn't a decal. Are you referring to the Classic? Mine has a pearl inlaid logo.
hellion102792
Are you referring to the Classic? Mine has a pearl inlaid logo. It's a decal on the Townshend model, because it's basically a VOS SG Special.
