badgerman05 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 The one in the middle. I am pretty sure it is a g400 but it was sold to me as a 61 50th anv.The headstock says sg serial number ee071001497 What do you think?
damian Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 A red flag is that it isn't signed............. ............ ( I really do not know....Just welcoming you to the forum......)
RobinTheHood Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 The '61 Reissues were Elitists and made in Japan. Your guitar with the EE serial number was made in China. The normal G-400's were modeled after the 1962 SG. I'm not sure what the differences were between 1961 & 62, but yours appears to be just a run of the mill G-400.
Steve-M Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Welcome aboard. I can't tell you for sure on your SG either but I've never heard of a 50th anniversary model. It seems if there were one it would be introduced in 2011. All the Epi LP anniversary models have something usually on the TRC to indicate such so it seems that so would the SG. I guess hang tight, someone will be along that knows for sure. Edit: I see you have your answer.

It seems that honor is reserved for the Les Paul. And so far there has been three different 50th anniversary models. Epiphone sure knows how to get mileage out of an anniversay, boy howdy!

Thanks to you and some others, I don't have to try committing them to memory and instead can look them up on epiphonewiki.
RobinTheHood Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 It should be a "46-year anniversary SG" 'cause it is made in 2007 Dont give Epiphone any ideas, Pete.
chiltone Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Didn't those 2011 ones have P90 s anyway? I think the seller was sadly mistaken

SketchyEtchy Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Deffo looks like the G400. The 50th anne' had P90's and came out last year.
RobinTheHood Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 You might want to check this out ----> http://www.sweetwate...etail/EG61CHNH/ I forgot about those. But to be fair, thats not a G-400.
EpiEric Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I forgot about those. But to be fair, thats not a G-400. Very true - technically an "SG Special" http://www.epiphone.com/Products/SG/1961-SG-Special.aspx
