Voodoo Monkey Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Well it came in this morning and I love this guitar. I like it more than my LP Standard Goldtop. It is beautiful and as I promised here are some pics. Made a quick 2 minute video using my new LP through my Fender Deluxe III's clean channel using a Zendrive for distortion. Another quick little video.
btoth76 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Hello! I know what You feel! :) My second favorite color in this series (No. 1 for regular Custom). Beautyful! Enjoy it! Cheers... Bence

Voodoo Monkey Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 That's a really nice looking LP - congrats Thank you my friend.
Thunderchild Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Beautiful guitar and your SG looks fantastic too!! What color is it? After looking at Bence's and yous, I may have to sweet talk mama for two more Love those two colors. As I've said before, my wine red moved my 2008 Standard to #2. Congrats again TC

The SG is a standard in vintage burst with a baked maple board. They are a limited run just like the classic customs. There were 4.... vintage burst, natural burst, aged cherry and cream. I almost bought a natural burst too.
nitefly Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Contrats VC she's a beaut! I am wondering what it has that makes it your number 1 over the 08 standard? Is it the PUPs, that new NGD feeling, board or what?
Thunderchild Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 VM, That is one tasty vid very smooth, replayed it a couple times. Copied down all your effects so mine will sound just as good..... but that means you'll have to come to Ohio and play mine Enjoy that sweet sound. TC
JM2112 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Congratulations!!! Like all the other LP Classic Customs other folks have been posting, that is just sweet, Sweet, SWEET!!!! Good to see all the different finishes, too. Enjoy that baby!!! [thumbup] I like the SG too!!! I'm not big on most of the burst finishes, but I like the vintage sunburst (at least I think they call it vintage sunburst) on the SG. It reminds me of the desert burst and tobacco burst finishes on some LP's which I also like. Happy playin' to ya'!!!!
Voodoo Monkey Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Contrats VC she's a beaut! I am wondering what it has that makes it your number 1 over the 08 standard? Is it the PUPs, that new NGD feeling, board or what? Thanks nitefly. I would say 4 things make me like it better than my standard. I love the baked maple board. I have an SG that has one too and I love them. 2nd would be I like the 57 classic and classic plus over the burstbuckers. They sound a little warmer to me and together with that board it's great. 3rd would be the classic custom is traditional weight relieved where the standard is chambered. I like both but the weight relieved I like a little better. 4th is the custom bells and whistles. I love the triple binding around the headstock with the split diamond and I love the cream color. Yes the 4th reason is purely cosmetic. I love both my LP's and I have 2 SG's and both SG's are standards. One is the standard ebony and the other is a standard vintage burst with the baked maple board and I like that over the ebony sg. It sounds punchier and they have the same pups.

I have seen those on here and they are nice! The wine red is the finish I got on my LP Classic Custom. I love all the finishes they chose for this model, and I prefer the solid color finishes over burst finishes. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I'm seriously considering a second one.
molto Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Amazing! I'm hoping to score one myself in the near future. It looks great. Congrats!
