Rick Doeschler Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Here's a great video of Eric Johnson and Joe Bonamassa playing Crossroads. Checkout Joe's playing on a Firebird 1.
Versatile Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Great post !......thanks.... That single P/U Firebird is like one Eric Clapton played way back when I haven't seen it re-issued at any time I believe it would be worthwhile At the moment there are Tokai's around which can be mod'd with a Seymour Duncan SM P/U Great sound and feel V PS...In all fairness the mix is not favouring Eric Johnson...his licks are very interesting but sound weak unfortunately.....
BIGBENDS Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Pretty good stuff, but the soloing is a bit too much for me on this song. Gary Moore once said that Albert King taught him that less is more when it come to soloing. King said something like "However many notes you feel like playing, play only half". Johnson and Bonamassa are fun to listen to though.
DestructorsKillMusic1982 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Those Firebird I's are sweet, they always remind me of the cover of the Kiss "Alive!" LP (one of the only photos I recall offhand where 3 of Kiss are playing Gibsons.) Gotta get me a Firebird soon...
