I believe the very first concert I ever went to was The Rivingstons in Seattle, (maybe 1964?)

Most people are more familiar with the "Surfin' Bird" version by the Trashmen, rather than the Rivingtons' version. Either way--as Doo-wop or Surf Wop--it was not exactly the high point of early 60's popular music. I prefer The Family Guy's version. Keeps it in perspective. [biggrin]

Plus, of course, he's doin' the "Surfin' Bird" dance, which mercifully is lost in the dustbin of history....except for people like you and me.... [biggrin]

That dance was the first cousin to the "jerk", another mid-60's dance best forgotten. The Beatles actually did a sing to the "jerk beat". It was called "Ticket to Ride".
