Either way--as Doo-wop or Surf Wop--it was not exactly the high point of early 60's popular music. I prefer The Family Guy's version. Keeps it in perspective. Plus, of course, he's doin' the "Surfin' Bird" dance, which mercifully is lost in the dustbin of history....except for people like you and me.... That dance was the first cousin to the "jerk", another mid-60's dance best forgotten. The Beatles actually did a sing to the "jerk beat". It was called "Ticket to Ride".
