Ren
I think you folks across the water send the rest of the world the greatest of messages! As of today, the world's a safer place for my son. Looks like it eventually paid off for all those old Delta Bluesmen (to keep it on topic)! Good luck, love and peace to you all!

tulsaslim
I'm 58 years old and remember Segregation when I was a little boy. Now I've lived long enough to see a black President. He can't do any worse than the guy in there now. With a democratic congress he's got the forum he needs to change things around. Let's hope he can pull us out of this quagmire. Hopefully Sarah Palin will go back to Alaska & I'll never have to hear her screeching voice again. (Worse than fingernails on a blackboard). Les Paul Fanatic
We'll see over the next few years, what happens, however I just don't think I feel comfortable with Obama as president, I don't mean to sound like a racist here but hey like I said my opinion is what it is. The reason I say that is because neither him nor Biden if I remember correctly have any military experience, which I feel isn't a real good quality for someone who's leadin our fair country. Yes Palin didn't have any either, however McCain had every day of thirty years military experience, and had he won and made it one term to give Palin enough experience, we would've been okay, but now God Be With This Country for the next four years. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) =P~ [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o<
stymye
you do realise that Palin has more experience in government than Abe Lincoln had? I don't hear people ragging on Lincoln.....,
FennRx
oh but you do sound like a racist and your avatar adds to it. southern pride blah blah, just like a swaztika is a sumerian good luck charm. underqualified? look at the guy in office. i am a registered republican and even i can see that dubya is the worst president since warren harding. stop drinking fox news koolaid and what yer daddy told ya and actually read something. obama won because we (republicans) screwed up. we had the whitehouse and the congress and lost both because of incompetance, arrogance and corruption. the people have spoken for better or worse. if you dont like it, gtfo. i hear iraq is nice this time of year. ChanMan
It's ok. GB didn't have any real military experience either... at least not John McCain type experience. Look... Ronald Reagan.... one of the greatest American Presidents ever, imho.... was not a particularly brilliant statesman. He was, however, intelligent and surrounded himself with folks who really knew their stuff, and we did very well as a country. Keep an eye on his cabinet. He was shrewd picking Biden as a running mate... let's see how he does.

So... if the police capture one of their top 10 most wanted, then we aren't any safer because 9 more are still out there? So if we find a cure for Cancer, who cares? We still have AIDS and SARS? So if we capture Bin Laden, big deal... plenty of other terrorists out there? Hmmmm...... I'll have to study on this one a bit, but methinks I detect a bit of "Debbie Downer".... RichCI
I'm not going to jump into the current argument here - I have some political boards I frequent for that - but I want to add that I feel elated over Obama being elected. I have great hope (yeah, I know - buzz word of his campaign) that this is the beginning of a new era for my country. The media have made a big fuss over him being the first black American president and, while that's very cool (black folks have dealt with a LOT of crap for a LONG time and are justly excited) but I see Obama as being the beginning of a new brand of leadership for this country, one that is based on unity and helping those who need it rather than being us-against-them and every-man-for-himself. He is the president who is going to fix broken foreign relations and maybe try something new with those who don't like us - like talk to them rather than have them "talk to the hand." It's a new day!
