BT Bob Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I just watched episode 1 of this on Sky Arts 1 in the UK. Any idea what Gibby acoustic he's holding? Really weird top...
ParlourMan Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Looks like an Everly bros type..... although, looks wise it looks like the same config as the Bille Joe Armstrong sig model
MissouriPicker Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Ronnie Wood is probably the best-looking of The Stones. I know that sounds kind of scary...lol.. because they all look like they've been to hell and back. BUT, I love the hell out of The Stones. They are who they are. No apologies. No pretending to really be "good boys." They're just The Stones. Legends of "real" rock and roll, and they've written/performed some of the sweetest folk songs ever. Long may they reign!

Tarrr Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 If Charlie Watts ever left, the band could not be the Stones any longer!
ChrisA83 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I saw it too and Alice Cooper guessed it was '55 or something and he didn't disagree.
BT Bob Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Nice one guys. Thanks for the replies. It looked really cool, and I enjoyed the show.

Excellent post !! I agree big-time... The Stones have given more pleasure to more people than probably any other band...at least equal to the Beatles And Ron Wood was such a good choice after Mick Taylor Ron had a huge following in previous bands like Faces and Jeff Beck Group And having an easy going stage persona and rapport with Keith Richards helps no end.... MissouriPicker Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Not to kick a hornet's nest, but I'll take The Stones over The Beatles any day of the week. Like guitars, it is all personal choice. To me, (and The Beatles are superb) the boys from Liverpool are pristine and easy, just like Taylors. The Stones are The Stones. They're Gibsons and Martins. Rough around the edges, grouchy, and don't really give-a-damn what you think of them, because they are who they are. Let's face it, Yoko wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell with The Stones.
retrorod Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Right ON....MP !! You said it! My feelings also Yoko was a scapegoat and a terrible artist And like you say....Not a snowball's chance in hell....

dave t Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 C'mon guys? an everly lookalike, billy joe armstrong model? get real, this is a 1963 gibson everly model..... well done ron, keep playing it. Dave t.
j45nick Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 It's a straight 60's EB model, as Dave T says. Nothing magic, except for the guy playing it now. And the two guys playing it back then. Now that's magic!
