If you had to reduce your gear...

So of all your gear, pretend you could only keep 1 electric, 1 acoustic, 1 amp. For fun lets say 1 pedal as well. What would you then be giving up that would pain you the most. Nothing new, just from what you already own. I keep my 60s tribute goldtop, my takamine ean10c, my marshall class5, and my fulltone ocd.

The one i would hate to give up is my nashville lp jr.

I'd keep my 1995 R0 (LP); my 1940's Di Mauro G-J acoustic; my late '70s Music Man 2x12 amp. No pedals.

The guitar I'd hate to give up - and for purely sentimental reasons - would be my first ever guitar; a 1976 Grant copy of a LP Gold-Top.

I'm not that emotionally attached to any of the rest of my stuff. They're just (nice) guitars.

You know, that's my EXACT situation right now [tongue]

there's the black Epi LPC, the Squier acoustic and the Randall amp :)

However...

With the incoming V, the LPC either has to be sold and if not,

I'll take a chisel to it, but for now, the project is to put

the stock Dean pickups in it :D

Pedals? Don't really use them, but if I had to keep one,

I think I'll go with the BOSS PW-10 wah [flapper]

1 electric. 1989 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentlemen

1 acoustic. my Alvarez 12 string jumbo

1 amp. my solid state Crate GTD 65

1 pedal. my Line 6 Pod HD

What would you then be giving up that would pain you the most. Giving up my 1964 Melody Maker DC would make me cry.

My R8

My 60s luthier made 1/2 size Spanish acoustic (I don't play it and I'm not into it but it was my mum's so I'd have to keep that over my other acoustic, a cheap Dobro Hound Dog).

My Marshall TSL 60 head and 1960a cab

I'd keep my Carvin SH550 electric, my Takamine G340 acoustic, my Mesa Express 5:50 amp, and my Hardwire DL-8 Delay/Looper pedal. What would hurt the most to part with would be my Gretsch 2005 G6120 Nashville or my 2007 ES-335.

Ok, this is emotional torture,

KEEP

Les Paul 50s Tribute

Marshall Haze 40

Fender Acoustic/Electric

Blues Distortion Pedal

What a tough call.

Keep:

My R0

Taylor 210CE

Marshall JMD 50

Fulltone OCD

I would really hate to lose my Suhr Strat (Probably the best built guitar I own) and my MIJ LP copy (sentimental).

By keeping the R0, I could sell it if necessary and buy another Suhr and another ES-339.

Doesn't matter. Never gonna happen.

Wow that's tough! I think one of the Strats, probably the '62 reissue for a keeper, along with the black Martin Acoustic and the Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. Pedals, I'd keep the vintage TS9 Tube Screamer.

I'd really really miss my Les Paul Classic Antique, my Gold Top Studio Les Paul 60's Tribute and both of the other Strats, plus my Marshall Class 5, Blues Deluxe and Marshall 20 watt PA head (1971), the 36 National Duolian. And a LOT of the pedals (I have a boatload, most missed would be one of the MXR Carbon Copies).

But then I already miss a lot of gear I had to give up back in the 1990's, my '67 Firebird III, my (real and all original) '62 Strat, my (also real) 57 LP Jr. and several Fender Amps ('56 and '57 Princetons, 2 1962 Tremlux's, a '60 Tremolux, '58 Vibrolux among others).

What a HORRIBLE thought! [scared][-X

Thank God, I don't have to make that choice (at least, not presently)!

IF I did:

Electric: My (first ever, electric)..1964 Strat

Acoustic: 1954 Gibson J-160E

Amp: Fender Twin Reverb

Pedal: Full Tone, "Full Drive," or Wah-Wah?...not sure.
