surfpup Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 If the mods could have just kept taking posts away so that, try as he might, he would waste a whole day trying to break 100 and never get there.

Basically, going for volume with a bunch of useless posts is very much like Spam. And Mods of major Forums spend all too much time dealing with Spam. BTW, I am sure a ban comes with some type of explanation (not before, at the time of). And a temporary ban is merely a disciplinary tool, to get the offender to think about their conduct and get in line with Forum rules, customs and policies. If they take it in the correct vein and adjust their behavior, it has done it's intended job and the Member gets to come back and enjoy the Forum. If they cop an attitude and cause more trouble, most places will simply ban again (longer, maybe permanent). Not something they want to spend their time on! For the OP, yeah, it would have been funny... to us. To the Mods, maybe even so. But also work, and it really would have been unprofessional too. Me, I'm already tired of reading about it, I'm going off to other threads that hold more interest for me. Perhaps we can just let the Mods do their jobs dissecting their actions?

It was never explained to me why I was banned. My home IP was blocked without warning.
