daveinspain Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Yup he sounds great, always loved his voice, specially in Bad Company...
Californiaman Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Does anybody remember The Law. That was some good stuff with him on vocals and Kenny Jones on drums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPAyAOGTAu0 Or his work with Jimmy Page in The Firm? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd8LnqBXpJY&feature=related

Californiaman Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Yeah that guy was good. He should have his own Signature model.
bigneil Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I think Paul rogers is one of the best Rock singers of all time. I think Joe Bonamassa is a great player......match made in heaven
cabba2203 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I dunno, I never could get into "80's" Jimmy. It's like the 80's took great 60's/70's rock idols and turned them into watered down caricatures of themselves.
JM2112 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Dave... This one is for you buddy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3973tfsllqw The Firm was an excellent band. I really liked Rogers and Page together. [thumbup] I was ceratinly happy to see them in concert.

Fungus Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 My most favorite Paul Rogers tune...... In the beginning, I believed every word that you said, Now that you're gone my world is in shreds. Oh, you loved me and left me, You took all the things that I needed so bad, I'm standing here wondering where is the love that I had? Oh, give me silver, blue and gold, The colour of the sky I'm told, My ray-ay-ain-bow is overdue. In the beginning, yeah, There was something of love that was mine, Now that it's gone, whoa, I'm cryin'. Oh, the time that it takes for a love To grow cold is a wonder to me, I'm walkin' around with my head Hangin' down, tell me where is she? Give me silver, blue and gold, The colour of the sky I'm told, My ray-ay-ain-bow is overdue. Don't forsake me 'cause I love you. Don't forsake me 'cause I love you. Give me silver, blue and gold, The colour of the sky I'm told. My ray-ay-ain-bow is overdue. Give me silver, blue and gold, The colour of the sky I'm told. My ray-ay-ain-bow is overdue. Now, give me silver, blue and gold, The colour of the sky I'm told. My ray-ay-ain-bow is overdue, yeah. Oh, don't forsake me 'cause I love you. Don't forsake me 'cause I love you, yeah.

canon_mutant Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Had another post on this when I scored a couple tickets to Bad Company's [likely] last tour together in Tulsa with 3 of the 4 original members. As I commented then, Paul just has the perfect rock voice, classic rock anyway. Perfect mixture of pitch clarity and raunch. Sadly, I had tickets to The Firm when they were here and got sick and gave them to a friend. Of course, he said it was awesome and even liked Page's playing in The Firm better than when he saw Zeppelin. Perhaps just less wasted by then . . .?? And as far as the whole Queen thing, trying to replace Freddie was just a dumb idea period. Some lead singers aren't replaceable. Wasn't Paul's fault . . . Kinda like if they ever tried to replace Geddy Lee in Rush.
RaysEpiphone Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Oh, man you hit a soft spot for me... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDjRFTIhxnA
bigneil Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I think Bad company rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFoVj3_sTU0
mikekefr Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I actually dislike the fact that when Paul Rogers joined Queen they started playing Bad Company songs. Imho Paul Rogers ruined it and I don't like him Damn Yankees played Night Ranger tunes,Styx tunes and Nugent tunes, none of those bands were performing at the time, was like icing on the cake imo,,,i agree ya cant replace Freddy but i personally thought Paul did an awesome job. And +1 to Silver Blue and Gold awesome song !!
