Lazerface Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Who here plays a jr? I got my nashville dc jr (gow) a few weeks ago. I love the simplicity and that p90 growl. Can i see some jr (or other single p90 guitars) love?
diskotekno Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I just got my junior a few weeks ago....first Gibson too! Love it. ...my wife says you all have to ignore the ratty couch in the background.
T Bone Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Sold my '57 Jr. back in the 90's when I needed cash (still kicking myself!). The only Jr. I currently have is anything but simple. It's a Robot Les Paul Jr. Special. Very cool guitar, despite the complex and finicky gen I robot stuff. In fact I've not played her in eons, thanks for the reminder, I'll pull her out later today! This is Rosie (named after the Jetson's robot). Pic note: Case was an eBay buy that was supposed to be "form fitted" to a Les Paul- Seller suggested my Les Paul was not of standard size/dimensions (yeah, right!) so I sent him pics of 4 different Les Pauls NOT fitting the case. Obviously sent it back, too bad, was an otherwise nice case.
Malchik Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Is the 57 rosewood? That red is badd!! Wouldn't be a VOS without rosewood.
Lazerface Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Im watching the steve miller/kenny chesney crossroads concert on the palladia channel, chesney is playing a jr! Just shows you the versatility of simplicity!
Lazerface Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Nevermind, its a melody maker with a p90...close but no cigar
Lazerface Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Think the doublecut looks waaaaay better on a flat top lp than a carved top. Nice axe!
Lazerface Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Haha nice. My jr is my only dc of my 3 lps
LPDEN Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Just about to add my NGD thread, but here's a peek at mine...:

T Bone Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Any idea where that 57 is now?? Nope. Sold it to Elderly Instruments in Lansing (along with the bulk of my collection over several months). I know i got a great deal when I bought it at the Detroit Guitar Show (bought for something like $1500 and it even had the Lifton Case). I sold it only 2-4 years later to a dealer and I think I got $1800. Guessing it would be worth somewhere around $8000 now (was probably worth over $2000 when I bought it!). FWIW, I played my Jr. pictured above for about an hour the day after my post above, what an amazing guitar. Most surprising is I had 3 guitars out, this, a Clapton Strat and a really nice 50's Tribute Studio Les Paul Gold Top with P 90's. Surprising was that this guitar sounded so very different from the Tribute. Both great, but a really very different voice. Love this guitar!
