Ok, guys. I've read all the reviews on all the many different recorders. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Zoom. Before I do, one last attempt at reviews on this thing. Should I or shouldn't I? Give me any feedback you have at all on this device! Good and bad. What devices are ya'll recording with? Thanks!

Well thats the one I use for live recordings. My take on it is that it has a great mike and excellent audio quality, but pretty average video quality in a gig/ concert scenario. Where there is a lot of natural light, so for example at home its pretty good. Given Audio quality is most important for me Im willing to compromise on the average video quality.

Here's a couple vids from two different venues where I recorded gigs with Zoom Q3 HD. Overall I do recommend it.

Starting to fancy one of these myself. Could be handy for a couple of projects I have in mind. Not too expensive either, seen a couple of competitors do better at video results but comparison audio reviews tend to favor the zoom. Very tempted.

I plug the condenser mic into a JoeMeek3Q for cleaner comp/eq, and then output to the mic-in jack on a Canon HF M400 cam. It sounds better, and I have a very high quality cam for other uses. The big plus for the Zoom is being more portable. Either is good.

Thanks for the input guys! I mean, for what it is, it's probably the best bang for the buck. I'm with ya EuroAussie, as for the audio quality which is what I'd lean to myself. Reckon I'll pull the trigger on this thing! I look forward to posting some videos for ya'll. It's pretty cool to put a face with a name on here and see the talent that exists. One thing about guitar playing: the guitar is the same, six strings and wood. But it's different in everyones hands!

+1 on the Zoom. Good equipment. How do you plan to listen to playback...is the issue.

Nice size and easy to use...battery life fair but easy to replace. Gotta have the upgrade to the memory, or lots of little ones...or download it all quick.

Some great deals on this Zoom, with all the accessories on EBay...sure beats what pricing I saw locally and I always try locals first. Check out the EBay vendors for $$$
