Guest rogerb
House Of The Rising Sun Not really wanting to reveal my age but House of the Rising Sun is the song that made me want an electric guitar.

T Bone
Whiskey Train by Procol Harum. Pretty simple tune, and it still sounds great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVYwwBvEoxo

Harmonics101
Beginners don't need no stinkin' songs !! Just strum a BIG FAT open G chord or an open E chord and let the guitar do the singin' Then intersperse an open D chord to check the intonation of the guitar. Save all songs fer when yer sittin' on yer couch watchin' TV Harmonics101 But if you HAVE to play a song and yer not too hung up on it, I'd say Amazing Grace pretty much would get what you want as well
T Bone
Did you ever hear the version Jake E Lee did on his Retraced album? :) Not until just now. Nice, but I still prefer the PH version. Both good though (didn't really care for the Leslie West version though).
RyanLloyd
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama Green Day - Time of your life Foo fighters - The Pretender All pretty basic songs, perhaps except some bits of Sweet Home Alabama and The Pretender for beginners
Voodoo Monkey
I would go with Back In Black or something ac/dc. Smoke On The Water was the first song I ever played then Parinoid and Shook Me All Night Long.

FenderGuy1
if i were to be in a music shop full of vintage guitars, i'd get a fender strat through a tweed amp of the same era, get a slide and play in open G tooning!
