Lefty Guy Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Now if you'd said Tuesday night football you'd be talking! The mighty Saints are at home to Ipswich Town tomorrow night & I'll be there cheering them onto another win. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2633711,00.html

Of course they're not in same league as the Canaries...
onewilyfool Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 "Football" means something different in Europe right??????
Mojorule Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 "Football" means something different in Europe right?????? Yes. It means the sport that was codified on the basis of the original game which actually involved using feet to kick a ball between villages, rather than the odd derivative of the sport codified on the basis of William Webb Ellis's endeavours at handling the ball. Even in Rugby Football kicking is a fairly common and spontaneous occurrence which to some extent justifies the name 'football'. Not really sure how a sport where a specialized kicker or punter is brought on once in a blue moon can merit that name.
