Nice. Thanks for the pictures. Already in the UK... Going to Ochanomizu tomorrow. Will keep my eyes peeled to see if any have made it to Japan yet.

Yeah I was quite shocked to see it since its not even on the main site yet..

Doesn't look that different to the VOS from a few years ago...

Just comes with a Flame top now...

I was also told today that they are stopping production of the 2008 standard in a few weeks.. Which is annoying as I may have to sell mine :( the guy in the shop was like, if you can, keep hold of that one, he himself bought an Ebony one before they went out of stock.. DOH!!

Wow. Now that's big news. Are they going to do the sane thing and restore the Trad with the standard name?

The 08 Trad & Std will likely both become discontinued (Why I got my Trd while I could)

The main reason would likely be Indian Rosewood issues...

Regarding the 2012 Std as I've said in the past I've only heard it will have a South American "Rosewood like" fretboard called Granadillo which has been used in instruments for 100+ years so not all bad...

5 to 6 Grand? For what, his name?! Sorry, no offense intended, but that will never happen...

I refuse to buy "endorsement" guitars...at least beyond "Les Paul's" original endorsement!

Especially when you can get one, of equal quality, for thousands less, and "mod" it, yourself

if you want/need those particular features. Gibby's are expensive, enough, without adding on

someone's name, just to raise the price, even further.

The only "endorsement" guitar I own, is my "Lucille." And, that's mostly because, at the time

I bought it, it was 400 dollars LESS, than a standard ES-335!! Gibson, has since rectified THAT

situation. LOL

And, how many Joe B versions, are there, now. Does he rival "Slash," yet? [flapper]

For you to buy their are 6

# GC - Gold Top Aged & Not Aged (250/50 runs respectfully)

# GC - 2008 VOS (300 run)

# GC - 2012 VOS (300 run)

# G - Gold Top Studio (600 run)

# Epi - Gold Top Standard (3x 1,000 run)

Joe also owns a multitude of Gibson Custom one offs http://jbonamassa.com/2012/02/joes-guitar-of-the-week-week-1/

# GC - Dark Blue

# GC - Bona-Byrd

# GC - Skylark

That I know of...

BUT he does a own a 1959! Needless to say they just released 1959 PAF's from it via Seymour Duncan...

I only own the Studio (I used to own a 1st run Epi)
