J45 pickup problem

Hi - new to the forum. I'm having problems with my J45 Custom (2010) - the terrible quacking sound. I use either a Bose L1 Compact or the Fishman Soloamp on my gigs.

The noise is there with either pa. I don't have this problem when I use my other guitar (starts with an M) I'm thinking of removing the Baggs Element and trying a K&K - any thoughts?

The guitar sounds great unplugged - but the rumbling on the low end and the quack is very noticeable. Thanks!

It sounds like the gain may be too much? Perhaps you are clipping a little. The K&K is a perfectly fine PU and so is the Baggs just different. if you have too much bass rumble take some low end out of the mix or scoop the mids a little. I have the Compact as well and it seems that I am hearing to much bass when i am near the system but it sound fine in the room. this is usually because you are possibly because the PA is against a wall or in a corner to save space. Just some thoughts

Im thinking about putting the Amulet system in my J45. [thumbup]

Let us know if you do that ! I have a guitar equipped with a Highlander that is just crying out for the Amulet. Let us know how the install goes - have heard that is extremely "key".

The dreaded under-saddle quack. Gotta get a DI box, and dial it in. Para-Acoustic is pretty standard, and pretty good, but ya gotta dial it in. I play 4 different guitars thru the same DI, and the settings are different for every guitar - and 2 have the same Highlander pickups in them.
