INTRODUCE YOURSELF Stickie

Spot

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,...not sure if ya'll agree but I think it would be an excellent idea for the MODS to put an "INTRODUCE YOURSELF" Stickie on the Acoustic Forum...

This would be a really good way for NEWBIE's to get involved and introduce themselves before asking the sometimes irritating,.. "How much is it Worth?" questions.

This may also seperate the time wasters looking for free and quick advice from the genuine participating future members?

Any thoughts?

Excellent idea, I can't stand how the the internet allows some very meak characters in real life, to develop 'forum cahones'- but the idea is a great one! It would be nice to actually remember we are all real people ;) and to encourage people to elevate themselves from being axe2543 to maybe a Dave or Fred LOL [thumbup]

Wow,..up to 61 views and no replies!

So no one actually has a view on this then?

[confused]

Welcome to the acoustic section [crying]

yes, it´s a good idea. As I´m someone who reads alot of posts but I´m not contributing much[unsure]

So I´m a makey learney strum\picker with 4 working guitars and one ready for the fire. Welshman living in Netherlands, but soon moving to Seattle USA. Humidification will not be required I guess!!!

Ah none of them listed with my signature. But I have a Dean Acoustic bought in 98 which my dear wife left in reach of my just walking son. The rest you can guess!!! It´s got a cracked headstock so the Grover tuners move a bit, and a cracked soundbox. I will reclaim the metal work off it and burn it, or maybe even keep it as a weapon:angry:

.

They'll read it.

And maybe comment.

Maybe not . . . . . there's already an introduce yourself area - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/forum/68-introduce-yourself/

No need for a dozens of extra "INTRODUCE YOURSELF" stickies for every sub-forum here.

A couple mods -

ksdaddy - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/user/134-ksdaddy/

duane v - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/user/4947-duane-v/

Thanks fot that BK.....Maybe you are right and there is no need for another specific STICKIE in the Acoustic Section then.

I would suggest we, as members, direct new peeps to the "Introduce yourself" area in the link above and recommend that they start here by Introducing themselves if they wish to be taken seriously.....

Thoughts?

I think one introduction area for members meets the need.

However, I do find that section of the forum behaving differently than what I am used to, and that's not saying too much

I really like the layout and design of the UMGF introduction thread. Seems there are more in depth explanation of bio's than on this forum. Could be an age thing, I don't know [biggrin]

There doesn't seem to be much content in the introductions that are posted here.

Hey, I think I might be a guilty party in that respect as well.

Its just the intro forum thread here scrolls way too rapidly for my eyes (yeah, they are old eyes).

Like, let's say I wanted to go check out Axe's intro (no, i'm not pickin' on ya Axe, but your Avatar makes me remember you more than the other members [cool]

Then again, if I wanted to check out someone more in depth, I could click someone's profile to do that.

I guess its six of one and 1/2 dozen of the other and the design and the way people post and use the forum.
