RRIDER
It came about an hour ago. When I opened the case all I could say was WOW! I sat down with it, tuned it, and plugged it in. Again all I could say was WOW! What I nice guitar. It feels good, it sounds great, and it looks great. I need to get a set of strap locks on it right away...It is quite a bit heavier than my other 2 Les Pauls. I know it didn't happen if I don't post pics... I took a couple real quick. Hopefully I can get some better pics after I shine it up a little better.
BigKahune
. These are cool. I like ebony and the GT. Yours appears to have fairly dark F/B material - nice. Congrats and beautiful LPCC. . B) .

The fretboard is darker than I imagined it would be..It looks to be nearly as dark as a rosewood F/B. I like all the colors on these LPCC's. It was a tough decision which one to choose because I had my pick of them all last Sunday when I ordered this one. I have a 60's Tribute GT, and a red ES-335 although it's not wine red. I flipped flopped back and forth from the wine red, ebony, cream and the antique natural. At the last minute I chose the ebony. I know it will show fingerprints and dust worse than other colors (just like a black car) but they look great shined up. I don't know what pickups are in my 335, but afaik this is the first with the 57's...The little I've played it so far, I like them a lot.
charlie brown
Well "Black" is certainly a traditional color, for a LP Custom...Classic or otherwise. So, it's always a good choice! Any, of the others, would have been great, though, too. I think you're going to really enjoy those "Classic '57's! Might depend on what tone(s) YOU like, but I love those pickups, myself! Morkolo
Is there a Classic Custom that doesn't look gorgeous out there? Happy new guitar day, you've got a keeper.

RRIDER
Thank you all.. I am truly impressed with this guitar. My wife thought I'd lost my marbles when I told her I ordered another Les Paul. She got home today and played a few chords on it and agreed it is a beautiful guitar and sounds fantastic..although she said it is too heavy for her...DARN! I guess I'll be stuck with it. btoth76
Congratulations! Absolutely agree with most of the guys: this is an excellent color choice for this guitar. Saw one in our local shop while I was waiting for my natural - almost bought it! Only downside of owning a CC is that sooner or later You'll have to visit an addictologist to help You. :) Cheers... Thunderchild
Shine it up a little bit better That is beautiful. molto
I love the new Classic Customs. Unfortunately/fortunately for me, I fell in love with a all new RD Standard last week, and with 2 Paul's already in the collection, I had to go with that one. But congrats, it looks beautiful! SugarBear
That does look pretty good, I've only seen a few Classic Customs and was not impressed with the baked maple.
charlie brown
That does look pretty good, I've only seen a few Classic Customs and was not impressed with the baked maple. Really, why? Color/appearence, feel, tone??? (Just curious) CB
SugarBear
Color/appearance (I've yet to play one). The color doesn't look natural...as its not, I suppose.
charlie brown
Color/appearance (I've yet to play one). The color doesn't look natural...as its not, I suppose. Well... I'll admit, I didn't much care for the "lighter" colored versions, but the one on my Gold Top, is nice and (reasonably) dark, and looks great! Feels and plays great, too! But, to each his/her own, as always. CB
RRIDER
That does look pretty good, I've only seen a few Classic Customs and was not impressed with the baked maple. "Baked maple - terrible name...maple burnt to look like rosewood. No offense to anyone that has one, but some of these Classic Custom models look like Chinese Les Paul Custom knock-offs! I'd prefer some raw maple neck and board models rather than this stuff." Thanks, I like it... You don't like them, that's OK. I don't think your comment about the Classic Custom models look like Chinese Les Paul Custom knock-offs was called for. Then again you're entitled to your opinion. You know what they say about opinions though...They are like butt holes, everyone has one of their own.
rocketman
Doesn't matter what we think. As long as you love it then that's what matters. I think it looks stunning myself. Congrats and happy playing!
SugarBear
Really, no offense intended, whatever floats your boat, i think yours looks great from the pics you've posted. The knock-off comment was an honest first impression (thanks for the negative vote for my honesty if that was you, btw...). I'm sure I'm not the only one that thought this upon seeing a Classic Custom with a lighter board for the first time. It wil be interesting to see if Gibson keeps using these alternate woods once (maybe "if") they are able to use 1 piece rosewood and ebony again.
