fortyearspickn
Raising the claim of a "Happy St.Patrick's Day" in this era of diversity, hope and change is politically insensitive. It offends those who are English, those who don't drink Guiness, and those who don't know what a Saint is, New Orleans football players included. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to wish us all a 'Happy Green Day' so we could enjoy drinking green beer while we forgo the warm peat fire in our hearths, embracing the cold and the coming of a wind farm nearby? I think I'll have a Black and Tan for breakfast though!
Rambler
Yeh to the Black and Tan. Here's a bit of the Irish, on an AJ. "we fight for the rights of the working class, a fight that was noble and true"

Celebrating heritage can be a good thing as long as it is not at the expense of others. Recently heard an Irishman say they don't drink Black and Tan because they don't water down their Guiness. So pick an irish song and appreciate the diversity of the world of music.

flatbaroque
Is it true St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland by playing a particularly tasty version of "Black Snake Moan" on his blessed old Stella?

I think I'll have a Black and Tan for breakfast though! someone who doesnt drink guinness should expect to be offended at regular intervals ! :) lots of it was drunk last night, but we made it through the gig with no bloodshed , i'm thinking that today is called mothers day because of the mother of a hangover i am now nursing by the way , if you're wondering how to offend then just sing a song like the one posted on here ... dont really see what the uprising has to do with st paddys day . well played though and each to their own :-) hope you all had a good one

In fact, my father was born in UK and my mother's maiden name was Corrigan. So - while I grew up listening to Tommy Makem and the Clancy Brothers - I honestly appreciate the fact that in the US, we are all Irish on March 17th.
