Happy St Patrick's day!

Top o' the mornin' to ye!! St. Paddy's Day is bigger in some communities here than Christmas. I live in an area known as "The Irish Loop" it's a string of communities stretching over 100 miles and over 95% of the people living here can trace their roots back to the county and town of their ancestors in Ireland. In fact the accents here are still identical to those of their forebears back in Ireland.Friends of ours were visiting Ireland a couple of years ago and were talking to a local man and he actually asked them what part of Ireland that they were from. They had to show him their passports to prove that they were in fact from Newfoundland. When we travel outside the country we are always asked if we are English or Irish because of our heavy accents.

I don't have a trickle of Irish blood in me as all my ancestors are from the Devon/Cornwall/Dorset area of England and the only Irish music I like are Celtic Woman,The Corrs,The Chieftans and my favourites The Pogues.

I forgot to ask my forum brothers over the pond, are there many Irish Wolfhounds in Ireland or England.I saw a TV show called dogs 101 and they showed a wolfhound that marches with the royal queens guard and I think he actually holds a rank.I live in Georgia USA my dad is Irish and American Indian so he drinks alot but cant hold it just like me.
