My prodigy protégé releases solo CD

My nephew who I took under my wing almost while he was still in Pampers has released what critics are saying is probably his best work yet.Except for the drum tracks on 2 songs every instrument and vocal on it is him.He wasn't very old when he had progressed to the point that I couldn''t show him anything more-now I know how Paganini's teachers felt lol. When he was only 14 or 15 his band won a competition to open for one of the most popular bands in the province where all the other entants were in their 20s or older.I let him use my '65 Strat since this was so special to him. They played their set doing covers and for their final number did Voodoo Child(slight return) and he hauled out all the stops and played behind his head and back as well with his teeth. The guys in the headline act were incredulous of what they haad seen a 14 year old kid do.He was the talk of the town for days after and had become a local hero over night for blowing one of the most popular bands in the province out of the water.I was the proudest I ever was of him that night.

Several years ago I sent on of his earlier solo CDs to Jian Ghomeshi of the CBC and he was pretty impressed with it.I will be sending him a copy of this one too and when he hears it he'll probably fly him up to be on his show-well I can dream lol.All the local music papers and the local CBC radio station have been giving the CD gushing reviews and are saying that it's his best effort yet-I concur. You can check out the CD here: http://www.victorlewis.bandcamp.com I'm sure that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks guys,I'll pass on your positive comments. He's getting really good feed back from all sites where the link is posted. In this day and age there are so many people who don't have a modicum of his talent making it big, mostly because they are photogenic or in some cases marry a famous producer. If they deserve a stab at the big time then Victor certainly does.

I just got a message on Facebook from one of my friends who was in a highly popular British band in the 60s,and are still active-I won't say who-not into name dropping-and he's quite impressed with the album, especially where it has that 60s-70s vibe.He has put it on his "share" list.
