Gary Moore Tribute
What, if any,are the differences between a Worn Brown Vintage Mahogany and a standard Studio LP? The Worn is "satin" finish so is cheaper to make the Standard studio is normally "gloss" which is more expensive
BigKahune
. You probably know - a Vintage Mahogany Studio has an all mahogany body, a regular Studio body has a mahogany back and a maple top. The VM has Burstbucker Pros and the regular Studio has 490R/498T humbuckers. .
btoth76
Hello Mick! The Vintage Mahogany is an interesting beast. Did You know that the original Les Paul Customs (in the fifties) had all-mahogany bodies too? With the Burstbuckers they must sound very authentic.... Cheers... MickFromMunhall
thanks for the responses ... i didn't know that original customs were solid mahogany - must have been pretty hefty ! i also have an' 04 standard, which i believe is weight relieved in some manner, but still comes in at around 9 lbs. the vm has imho a better sound than the standard. i only got it recently, so maybe it'll grow on me.
