Joshua Calicdan
Yes, I Know Not Everyone Likes The Tuners On Their Guitars I Love Gibson Les Paul's ALOT I Love Their tone, Their Looks, And A Sweet Melodious Sound!!. Then Yes, Change Your Tuners If You Want Go Down In the Music Store That is Near You And Go Look For Some tuners You Like And Here Is A Tip: Don't Get The Tuners That Are Very Cheap I Always Go To The Music Store And I Find Alot Of Cheap Tuners they just Brake Alot, They Don't Tune Very Well... So, I Would Suggest having About A Tuner About $120.00Worth of An Electric Guitar Tuner I Know Its Expensive For You Folks But It's The Best For Your Guitars.. Again Find One You Like. I Like " Floyd Rose Tuners" Those Are Great For Your Instrument They Work Good on Acoustic Guitars And Electric Guitars There Are More Great Ones Out There So, Find One You Like And Purchase It! L5Larry
Don't know about the tuners (can't enlarge the back-of-the-headstock photo), but the buttons are replacements. The button style is known as "Grover Imperials", and the replacement buttons are available in chrome, gold, or pearloid (as pictured), through many aftermarket parts houses such as AllParts. I put a set of the AllParts gold Imperial replacement buttons on my L-5.
Lefty Adams
I found some of these buttons on an old '69 LP recently, weird looking things imo, not the prettiest ...
old mark
They are Grover Imperials. They once were a top choice for big dollar jazz guitars. I think they were an option on some Gibsons many years ago. I have seen them on Les Paul Customs from the 1970's and earlier. They are very high quality and very smooth. The set of 6 in gold is close to $100, but I have not seen the pearl button versions for some time. Many people consider them THE jazz guitar tuners-they are great. mark

Danner
Just my opinion, but I think they look very good. I wouldn't change them.
codename
I think you did good at
BillyGibson
Looks nice. Someone replaced the kidney bean buttons with aftermarket imperials. I'v been thinking of doing that with my Sheri, but in gold. It's about a $40 swap. Much cheaper than the whole tuner.
old mark
It's a beautiful and unusual guitar. I think it was a steal at that price. The wear on the front gives it character, and I would not worry about that. I would never replace those Grovers, either...they the best, IMO. enjoy it. mark
