cash
Does any one have any info on the "nouveau" by Gibson acoustics? I can't seem to locate anything on them.
ksdaddy
I think the bodies were made in Japan and they were assembled in the US. I can't recall exactly, but they weren't true Gibsons in my book. Kinda like the Martin Shenandoah series.
QuestionMark
I've played one that was quite cool...very light natural wood side and back with a nice looking natural top. A big Nouveau by Gibson inlay on the headstock if I recall. Played kinda well...and was kind of a conversation-item due to its rarity and uniqueness. Couldn't really figure out why Gibson marketed it, though...and its apparent that the energy and marketing that went into it was later transferred to the Epiphone brand. Guest
A Gibson Nouveau headstock: Body: Like Scott mentions, there was some kinda Japan-USA thing here. There are different from the sort of cool Orville-by-Gibsons which you see popping up more frequently these days too. I think those are all "pre-Henry", though. (I think.)
