guitar_randy Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 How mismatched would it be you think if I replaced the bridge pickup in my studio with a 57 classic plus and left the 490r in the neck?I may do this and somewheres down the road put a classic 57 in the neck position, but would it sound hideous with a 57 classic plus in the bridge and 490r in the neck in the meantime?
jdriehuis Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 depends i guess if you leave the 57 classic plus uncovered or not. But at the end of the day it depends if you like the sound and you shouldn't care what other people like

jdriehuis Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 if you put a cover plate on both it won't clash in looks. Soundwise I haven't got a clue sorry

jdriehuis Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 you could always put a 57 classic in the neck and a 57 classic + in the bridge. I love that set up in my classic antique

jdriehuis Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 lol' date='I wish I thought of that[/quote'] it looks pretty as well
brundaddy Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I have a beater LP studio that I stuck a 57 classic plus in the bridge position and it's perfect. Do it, you'll love it!
daveinspain Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I don't think there are any rules... Experimentation is the best way to find a unique sound...
