Scored Me A Casino!

Recommended Posts

You need to remedy that! You need an Archy in your arsenal !![thumbup]

I know. I told myself that an archtop would be my next guitar, but I'm a sucker for an SG. So I ended up with the '61 SG Special. Definitely the next guitar though. [smile]

Lovely! A Casino is definitely top of my list for my next electric.

RTH or anyone else- have they released a casino lately (since 90) in pelham blue? i know they did the Dot and the Supernova...but would love to have a casino in blue!

Not that I am aware of. I'm actually having a very hard time finding a good pic of a Pel Blue Casino for the wiki, so I would have to say no. They seem to be super rare.

Congratulations on a superb find and welcome to the turquoise club! I had the pickups rewound by Bare Knuckle and they chime like a clock shop at midday.

What amp do you have?

Haven't seen any either, and one would think with he onslaught of Pelham Blue being available to many models in both the Gibson and Epi lines that it would have crossed the over to the Casino line... I jumped on the Dot in Pelham Blue before it disappeared.. They did a nice job on the finish.

Then there's the aged Pelham Blue which if you're into the Vintage "time applied" look is cool too that has shown up sporadically on different models, usually in limited quantities:

Yes, you would think that they would make a Pel Blue Casino run to go with everything else. You know a Pelham Blue Casino would sell like hot cakes. Epiphone wouldnt be able to keep them in supply....and it would be glorious!

I'm not so sure about that Aged Pelham color on the Wilshire. It just looks like green to me. The pics of the Pelham Blue Wilshires dont look very Pelhammy either. But that could just be the photos. Personally, I'm kind of tired of all these "aged" & "worn" finishes. Even the TV Yellow '61 SG is an aged version of that color. I cant imagine what it will look like when it actually does age over time...but I guess I will find out eventually.

Everyone laughs at my amp til they hear it. :D

It's a fender champ 600, slightly modified. The main thing I do with it is run it into a cab featuring a 1960 Rola 12" speaker. I have to mic it of course, but the tone kills!

Probably worth noting I do not play with a band. I do a solo gig only.

I'm the singer/songwriter with a nasty edge. No acoustic touchy feely stuff for me. More of an old bluesman on his own.

Pelham Blue Casino

I actually have those pics, though I havent put them up yet. Its the 1990's Pelham Blue Casino I'm looking for pics for. Since they are different models, they get seperate entries on the Pelham Blue page as well.

I actually went into the shop to have an old frankenstein amp looked at when I spotted this beast on the wall. I've always wanted a casino, but had never fout "it." Plugged this one into an old Princeton and it was magic. Nice sparkling P90s, all original with Epi case and barely a mark on it. A little finish fading, but, hey, it's 17 years old. Looks like a MIK model from 95. The turquoise color is really cool, but the guitar sold itself on feel and sound. Most all the new ones I've tried seemed heavy and kinda dull sounding. This one is barely 7 pounds and is quite lively.

Congrats on getting a great guitar Elias.I have 2 Casinos-a MIC natural and one of the first 50 1965 John Lennons. The J.L. is mymfavourite of all 30 of my guitars and it sounds just like John's when it's played through a Vox or silver faced Fender Twin or Deluxe Reverb.I'm sure that you'll enjoy yours too.BTW- that's a fabulous colour.
