I'd avoid using Planet Waves cables as I've had nothing but trouble with every version of them, the lifetime replacement warranty is only good if you're not having to go back a forth to your local store with dead cords. On top of that I find they color the sound. Right now I use Yorkville cables and find they're transparent and hold up to regular abuse, my favorites used to be Leem Hotwires... transparent and almost bulletproof.

I make my own cables. I make 'em better than most off the shelf cables. I used to make custom audio and video cables as a job. Have wired from scratch and completely re-wired a few multi million dollar Audio Post ( Film and TV ) and Music studios.

I use Canare GS-6 cable (http://www.canare.com/ProductItemDisplay.aspx?productItemID=61) and Neutrik 1/4" ends (http://www.neutrik.com/en/audio/plugs-and-jacks/c-series/).

If you can get the parts, any good tech should be able to put it together for you....it's an 'easy' job if you know how to prep and solder a cable properly .

I would check out Dimarzio guitar cables. they are extremely durable and sound very good.

I have some very high end guitar cables, george l, Lava, Dimarzio Vai etc and i find that the standard dimarzio cable sounds the best.

Make sure you only get the length that you need, no need for 20 feet if 10 or 12 will do the trick. i believe they have a lifetime warranty as well.
