bigneil
this is how a sherry will sound with P94s ('bucker sized p90 single coil pickups). much clearer and more bite than the stock humbuckers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epyTLRuBm0Q and with a little more grit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QNYUXCTFyg&feature=related

bigneil
Who's p94 do you have Neil. That's not me, I did a tube search to find a good video for demonstration purposes. I currently don't have any P90 or P94 guitars. However I have been wanting a set of Seymour Duncan P rail pickups , which are like humbuckers that split to a P90 or a strat style rail pickup, very very clever design. Look them up on you tube or on the SD web site

whitespike
Wonder which GFS pickups sound the most like the Gibby p94s. ALmost traded my Sheraton for a Tele today but couldn't. It plays so nice. Still sounds like butt ;)
whitespike
No, sorry for any confusion. The Sheraton has 500K pots as stock, I replaced mine for 500K CTS pots when I first changed the pickups out to GFS Vintage 59 humbuckers which were an improvement but I decided to go for single coils, so put the Dream 90's in. Some people go to 330K pots with P90's. Do you know what Gibson uses with p90s on the Les Paul Junior Special? 330?
whitespike
I decided that you nice folks have answered enough questions from me. I just ordered the Surf 90s! I plan on just attaching them to the existing wiring first and going from there. I will come back and let you know how it turns out. Thanks!
