Nightowl
8 minutes of guitar fun. Half way through he gets to talking about his J-45. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-campbell/the-guitars_b_1406937.html
retrorod
Thanks for sharing that I have always liked Campbells playing with TP and the Heartbreakers. What a great band! Great story on the J50. It would look better with its pickguard, IMO

Gilliangirl
Wow! What a great story! I wonder who the guy is, and where he is now? Maybe he'll resurface now that this video has been done. And didn't that J45 sound great?

Rambler
Enjoyed that. Love what he plays behind TP as much as his take-offs. With MC, its about the song.

passthej45
Loved the video, plan on watching the whole series. Help me out...I always thought that a j45 with a natural top was a j50. What's up ?

Nightowl
Yeah...it appears to be a J-50. I was wondering the same thing. I guess if Mike Campbell could misidentify his J-50 for a J-45, I don't feel quite so dumb.
Spot
Yeah...it appears to be a J-50. This is what I thought, but I also wouldn't think that Mike Campbell (..or one of his expensice Guitar techs!) would get this wrong!!!! As far as the year goes for this guitar it's definately post '56 when the adjustable saddle was introduced. I'd put my money on a late 50's model..... My guess is that it is in fact labeled J-45 in the soundhole and was sold as a Natural model.....Any thoughts?
Tiny
Looks to me like it might be a really faded cherryburst, which would make it a 45, not a 50. The upper bout appears a little darker than the rest of the guitar.
