oblivionxcloud
Hello. I bought a V (not very recently) and up until a few weeks ago, this instrument started giving me problems. It is important to mention that it was a used instrument. One of my biggest concerns at the moment is the fret buzz I've been noticing lately. I know it's not the previous owner's fault because when I bought it, it had no problems. I've looked up stuff regarding fret buzz but I just want to hear from other Flying V owners. I guess my question is, what can I do to my V to get rid of fret buzz?
Space Pup
Could be something as simple as needing new strings (You may have put a kink in the string while bending it.) or a truss rod adjustment. Depending upon the age of the guiatr and how much its been played you could also need to have the frets dressed.
Riffster
Yea it sounds like your guitar need s a set up, new strings, truss rod adjustment, intonation and maybe a little bit of work on the nut. Guitars need maintenance, their playability changes due to temperature changes and playing. If you are unsure as to how to fix your guitar I would recommend taking it to a luthier or guitar technician and for about $50 (including new strings) they will do all this adjustments for you professionally. If you do this be sure to tell them what you play and how you play, if you have a heavy hand then you need higher action and so on... You should however learn how to maintian your guitar eventually.
