ajay
I don't think I'd let God sign my guitar. If it's that big of a deal seeing someone in person, have them sign the back of the neck. That's an awfully nice guitar to be exposed to graffiti. I think I'll go and have a good cry for the loss of that beautiful sunburst. (sniff) Oh. And who's Oasis? She says she still wants to play it like that . She never mentioned getting the guitar signed on the face of it until I say the picture. If she had ley me know it was going to be signed I would have advised her to get it signed on the back of the headstock between the tuners. or on the orange label . Gibson101
I'm confused, you had this guitar made for her? What was the cost? She in turn has it signed by some tool who doesn't have time to acknowledge fans except when they have a $3,000 + guitar signed? Please tell me it was all worth it

Please tell me it was all worth it Yeah I had it made as a close replica of Noel's original modified Ron Wood model . and the I sent it to her as a gift but yeah i got pissed off ... but then I resolved that it was her guitar and if she had seen fit to get it signed by the guy then it's her thing . I am actually happy that she is happy the guy signed the guitar. but I understand and I agree with you and the other guys that the guitar should have been signed somewhere else . my preference would have been the orange label . it was worth it for her forsure and seeing her happy with it makes it worth it for me JC

She is obviously overjoyed, and must very well feel that it was very worth it. I'm sure she does not feel that it is 'graffiti'. She will probably play, keep and cherish it forever....... so what's it to anyone else. BTW...."Oasis who.....Noel who???" Noel happens to be a very talented singer songwriter IMO. Also a gibby lover...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-XFWeQFcHk&feature=relmfu
ParlourMan
An extract for his latest newsletter which just dropped into my Inbox. "The past six months has seen Noel Gallagher win the NME Godlike Genius Award, the Q Icon Award and his double platinum album nominated for a BRIT Award. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, currently touring Mexico, recently completed the first leg of a sold out UK arena tour - taking in 9 different venues in 9 different cities with a further 5 arena dates later this year." EuroAussie
Nope, and you can really learn a lot from Noels approach to composition. When i returned to playing guitar 3 years ago after a 15 year break I really focused on Oasis songs. As Noel has a real knack for taking simple chord progressions and making them tasty, with just the right melody or lead part. Easy to play learn and enjoy. I would recommend Oasis songs for anybody who is in early stages of learnign guitar as a source of inspiration. When you first get Wonderwall totally right and play along to the original its a really great feeling ! nothing to complain about

EuroAussie
Yep, except back in the early 90's I had to play this track on a Epi EJ-200, now I can do it on the real thing .. ;-) i remember that time well , went through that phase too :-) us guys of a certain age that had a guitar all had the wonderwall moment
Kylef
It would be a travesty if she didnt still play it. I think its like, she got the guitar from you as a tribute to Noel, therefore it feels fitting that she gets the guitar sign ed by Noel. I understand where youre coming from, but her aswell. I side with you, but if it was someone that I was there number one fan, some people wont stop until they have the best of that person. Your friend is just showing her respect to him. Make this a lesson to you....next time you get a guitar made, send it to me!!!

ParlourMan
Not quite..... From their wiki page: "They have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners; they have been nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.[1] Also the band was listed in theGuinness Book of World Records in 2010 for “Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group” after an unprecedented run of 22 top 10 hits in the UK.[2] The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the most successful act in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.[3][4]" So as of 3 years ago, worldwide sales of 70 million... in that last 3 years many of the albums have re-charted in spurts, especially when the band broke up. Probably fair to say an awful lot more sales than many of the artists discussed here regularly. In fact I'm sure many of those artists would be only too happy to trade careers with Mr Gallagher.
