e/2 Explorer
I am currently trying to own every version released, as far as I know, there were only 3 models released; CMT e/2, maple/walnut sandwiched and either walnut or mahogany sandwiched with maple. I recently saw a black finished one on eBay but I believe someone had it custom painted. I also am wondering whether the CMT version came originally w/ a TP-6 fine tuner bridge Here is my pair of e/2's. The maple/walnut version weighs an even 12 lbs, the CMT weighes just a hair under 10lbs Any detailed info would be greatly appreciated

guitfidle
I have played both of those models you have, and I swear I've seen another. However, not all odd explorers are E/2s, I have an '84 explorer 3 (E/3).[/img]

Alex_SF
I also am wondering whether the CMT version came originally w/ a TP-6 fine tuner bridge Yes' date=' it did. It was called "The Explorer" and "Explorer CMT" in different years, apparently. Someone at Gibson sent me this when I asked about mine: [img']http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3344/3233745774_d49866cd94.jpg[/img] Mine's "Antique Cherryburst" (ACB); yours must be "Antique Sunburst" (ASB). The tailpiece on mine is aftermarket: some prior owner replaced the original bridge & tailpiece with seriously ugly brass hardware, but I put gold hardware back on, a new TP-6 and a TonePros bridge. The weird brass bridge was still on it when the picture was taken.
