Les Paul Fanatic
Lovin' the Burstbuckers, very clear tone both clean and distorted. Pinch harmonics aren't quite as hot as I would like since I do have a tendency to swear by them, here and there.

mr newhaven
is that a Les Paul Vintage Mahogany?? it looks like one and by everyone talking about BB Pro's it sounds like one too!... i've had mine for over a year and it is still in my opinion the most comfortable Les Paul out on the market...regardless of price. the finish on the neck is comfortable and fast...the only work i had done to mine was to have the fret ends filed down...(what else would you expect from a sub $1000 gibson though) even my luthier was impressed by the playability of the axe after he was done! (there are prettier les pauls on the market but for the price and playability...you wont need another les paul after this one!) congrats!
Les Paul Fanatic
Yes my friend it is a Vintage Mahogany, Worn Brown Finish. I like the large frets on there because once I have to change strings on them, they'll get worn down by my strings since I use such a heavy gauge string, 10-60's. Thanks. e/2 Explorer
I believe my neighbor mr newhaven is referring to the fret "ends", not the frets themselves. Almost any Gibson I pick up these days at GC or elsewhere has this problem. This includes even high priced models. I recently checked out a Zakk Wylde LP that was almost 5k with ends that needed a filing down. Not a real big deal if you are familiar with a file but for the money, you would think attention to those details would be automatic
thejay
nice man - congrats! I love my LP VMs as well!

mr newhaven
well then les paul fanatic youve just saved yourself either a couple of hours or a couple of hundred dollars (in my case) congrats! now there are a few "mods" i wanna do...one being installing one of those neurtik jacks on it (like on the 08 standards) and possibly installing new humbucker covers...(the ones that say "Gibson" on them...very cool!) enjoy the hell out the guitar man! mine over the past year has just gotten sweeter...the neck is seriously the most comfortable i have ever played! Les Paul Fanatic
Thanks man, they are very good guitars, the only mod I would consider doing to mine is maybe just MAYBE putting in a set of EMG's and see what I get, cause I've got the pickups, and the soldering iron to do it, I'm just very heavily contemplating whether I want to or not. I mean it would be an easy overhaul to do I just have to get the wiring diagram to do it. I love the neck on mine, it's not too fat, nor is it too skinny, it's just right for my hands which is a good thing because on the rest of my guitars it's hard for me to play chords on.
