Two volumes or master volume/master tone?

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I'm new here and i don't know if someone else has already posted a similar question.

As a result my "knowledge" I wanted to know from more experienced people what is better to go with emg 60/81 combo: two volumes or master volume/master tone.

thanks for any replies.

I prefer 2 volume controls on my guitars, having just one master volume can limit the tone possibilities, at least in the way I play- I use the middle switch position most often, with the neck volume rolled back to around 6, bridge up full.

If I find a guitar I like that doesn't have 2 volumes, I'll convert the tone control to a volume. I hardly ever use tone controls anyway, getting my tones by rolling the neck pickup volume up and down.

Did you know you can get controls which have two knobs stacked on one shaft? That's what I did to my EMG-equipped guitar. That way I have V/T, V/T : each pickup has both Vol and Tone.
