AXE® Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Usually E flat. But I keep three at different tuning's. Standard. Drop D in E flat. And Flat.
surfpup Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Eb unless I need to tune up to 440 in order to get along with others. I like open Eb for slide work. Don't mess with open G or A type tunings much. They can be fun but I always end up playing Stones type stuff for a few hours and then getting bored with it. Love open D on my acoustics (or Eb). Have been messing around with open C on the acoustic lately too. Not a big fan of DADGAD - always sounds unresolved to me. Also like to capo on 2nd fret - except for the E string - on the acoustic. Guess it would be dropped E - kinda like dropped D without the flappy D.

ChanMan Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 The LP is in Standard, the Elite is in drop D, the Mahogany strat is in standard Van Halen half step down, and the tele is one full step down from standard. My acoustics are all standard.
surfpup Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 ...and the tele is one full step down from standard. Really? I thought that was against the law in Nashville (and the surrounding area)
ChanMan Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Really? I thought that was against the law in Nashville (and the surrounding area) John 5 changed everything for Tele owners..... suddenly, they aren't just country anymore :D! Seriously wicked tone off the Tele with that tuning.....
Morkolo Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Usually standard and on occasion a few open tunings that I honestly don't know the names of.
RaysEpiphone Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 440, I don't mess around with weird tunings, nothing against it I just want to be standard as I'm a border-line perfectionist. Don't use a capo ether, if I can't hit the rage of a song then I don't bother to play it.
bonzoboy Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I tune to an E flat minor augmented, diminished seventh.
