Stooge Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Jeez, so young too. I didn't even know he had cancer...RIP big man...
cabba2203 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 :( That sucks. Diagnosed in 2009, that cancer worked fast or was already deep rooted. The beasties were the only rap band I liked. I'll have to spin some Licensed to Ill tomorrow during Cinco de Mayo.
Twiz Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 This is a sad day indeed. I bet if you added the time up that I spent listening to License To Ill and Paul's Boutique, it would probably equal 3 or 4 months of my life. Those two albums in particular are woven into my DNA.
A add9 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Come on guys, try not to make it a sad situation.. He's moved on to another realm. No more suffering. Think in terms of ..... it's not the end, but a new beginning. Remember, thoughts are energy. Energy can not be destroyed, but can only change form. Celebrate his life, and celebrate his death as passage. I'm sure he wouldn't have it any other way. By the way, let's not forget the other thousands of people who passed away today, who were just as talented, just as loved, just as important, but not as recognized.
Buxom Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Their music shaped many boring road trips into good experiences. The riffs in No Sleep Til Brooklyn and Fight For Your Right were key sounds of my childhood, along with Blitzkrieg Bop, Paranoid, and Love Gun. They had a huge impact on the way I perceive what music is, along with any other artist I've loved for years.
