Aster1
Looks like a beauty. I don't know anything about the BlackStar products. What's their claim to fame? Is it tube or solid state? What are the reasons you picked it and why do you like it? (not that you shouldn't, I just don't know about them and want to hear your impressions) Enjoy that black beauty!! LarryUK
It's all valve. I watched You Tube video's to decide. But it really does sound like a big amp cranked up at low volume. I want to try it as a slave to my bigger amp. Would I I go in through the effects loop and bypass the pre amp on my big one?
DiamondJig
Try both, just stasrt off with the volumes down low and work it from there. I did not like the sound from the headphone out into my Big amp, the loop was much better, you will have to keep the HT-5 plugged into a speaker. Aster Their claim to fame is that the company was started largely by ex marshall workers. Congrats Lashurst on the new amp btw. Ive tried a few of their amps and really like them
LarryUK
Since I've come back to playing its such a market now. So much to pick from. There's more to life than Marshall. Same goes for guitars too.
T Bone
Great sounding amps with a great reputation online. First became aware of them watching a band win a Blues competition at my favorite local Blues Club. Complimented the guitarists sound and asked about the rig, was surprised at the 5w output (Club has a great sound system and Professional Sound Man, obviously the amp was mic'd). Guitar was an Epiphone semi hollow body (Casino? Emperor? Can't recall). Great sound though.
