My Golden Guitar

Recommended Posts

As promised previously, here are a couple of tracks I recorded with my wonderful golden 1959 Gibson LG3 recorded on a Zoom portable recorder:

E Shuffle:

My version of Robert Johnson's "Kind Hearted Woman" - from the same family of blues as my earlier posted recording of 32-20 Blues....

BK, them's some magic fingers my friend! Put me on the list to buy the album. If I could afford I would buy you a ticket from OZ so that you could come to

SANSJAM and teach us all how to play. Deadgrateful is correct...Clapton has nothin' on you.

MAGNIFICENT !!!

Great job BK! The LG3 certainly has you inspired but you sounded pretty darned good on your BK. Martins, as nice as they are, can't deliver fingerstyle blues like a Gibson can. Clapton would do well to give one a spin but then I like him better with all things Gibson.

Thanks very much everyone for the nice replies!

My Internet Explorer software is corrupted, I think, and giving me grief and we all know what that means on computers - it is about to go phhhhhssst!!? So this could be my last reply until the mechanic(me, probably) has a look. I'm not ignoring you! It is trying my patience watching the circling thingy waiting to log on to the forum....

BBG's question about how I am learning all this stuff is a good one, but a bit tricky!

The key word is I am still 'learning' and will turn the computer off in a sec and go and play some guitar!

Stefan Grossman and Homespun tapes are pretty good places to start, but I went to a guitar teacher who tried miserably to teach me Jazz Comping. From the lessons I developed a bit of the discipline needed to sit at the guitar for hours a day!

And don't forget to go see as many live performers as you can!

PLUS I am still hooked on guitar!

Mississippi delta blues, all them other cats are just looking for it, BK...you stepped in it. Clapton is a rocker playing pseudo urban blues, a wannabe who missed the gene pool. keep em comin
